Information for Teaching Assistants
for the Young Dancers Program (ages 3 to 5) at The Kingston School Of Dance
The Teaching Assistant (T.A.) program at the Kingston School of Dance is offered to intermediate and senior students who are interested in developing experience working with young children and teaching dance. This is an excellent way for students to gain high school volunteer hours; develop childcare skills in a supervised environment (e.g., for those who want to babysit); and learn about teaching dance. All KSD Teaching Assistants who successfully complete their volunteer term earn a reference letter, which is valuable for school (LEAP, Challenge, college, university), volunteer, or work applications.
Because participation in the program has a direct influence on the quality of experience that young KSD students experience the dance class, it must be considered a serious commitment. All participants in the Teaching Assistant Program must review and agree to the following terms. Participants under the age of 18 must also obtain the signed consent of their parent to participate.
